Our Mission and Our Value There are three words that represent qualities vital to nature and youth.  These same three words also personify one of today's most renowned entertainers, Vikki Carr, and they form the basis and philosophy of the Vikki Carr Scholarship Foundation.  These words are promise, achievement and service.  They are the promise of youth and talent, of dreams and dedication; the achievement of aspirations and goals for oneself and one's dependents; the service to others without regard for recognition or reward. Three Qualities Three Criteria Every recipient of an award from the Vikki Carr Scholarship Foundation embodies these three qualities.  Every recipient also qualifies for support through these criteria. Promise is evidenced through a personal essay, and if all requirements are met, an interview with the board of directors.  Achievement is measured in a record of academic excellence and college entrance exam scores.  Service is demonstrated through a history of community involvement and public service and leadership. More than half a million dollars in scholarships have been awarded to students and their families. These scholarships represent the shared commitment of numerous individuals and companies who have made contributions to support outstanding young men and women, of modest backgrounds, with universal hopes, who merit an opportunity for higher learning without the burden of financial cost.
